MEDIUM WELL-DONE. Spiritual medium Theresa Caputo of Hicksville doesn't work with police like Patricia Arquette's character on the TV show "Medium." Otherwise, it's like her children used to tell friends who asked what Mom did for a living: "Oh, she speaks to dead people." Only now she'll be doing on it on TLC's new "Long Island Medium," premiering next Sunday at 10 p.m. "What I use my ability for is helping people," Caputo, who's been doing it 10 years, tells Newsday.

FINALES. In a two-hour episode tonight, Chef Gordon Ramsay picks the winner of "Hell's Kitchen" from the remaining four finalists. Jennifer Normant was cut last week.

AUDITION. The nearest site holding auditions for the next "American Idol" is the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., on Thursday. Details at Americanidol.com.
