Long Islanders blew 'X Factor' judges away

Long Islanders Simone Torres and Al Calderon made Thursday's episode of "The X Factor" a mind-blowing experience. Watching Simone, 19, of Port Jefferson Station, in her T-shirt and lavender jeans break into a deeply soulful rendition of "Mustang Sally" was the kind of surprise that makes the show must-see TV. And how adorable was Al, 19, who sang "Sara Smile"? Until now, he's been working in a restaurant as a "Happy Birthday" singer. I feel a record deal coming for this guy.

On Thursday's "The Talk," Sara Gilbert revealed that she knew she was gay while dating "Roseanne" co-star Johnny Galecki. "We started dating, and he would come over, and we would make out, and then I would start to get depressed," she said. "Johnny felt badly, I think, and started to take it personally and didn't know what was going on." Sara said when she told him about her sexuality, he was "super-sweet" about it.
