In a studiedly goofy photo of herself wearing false buckteeth, an unflattering blond wig, star-shaped pasties and blue opera gloves, Miley Cyrus late Monday night announced her upcoming "MTV Unplugged" special.

"MTV presents 'Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged,' y'all," the provocative pop star, 21, captioned her Instagram photo, in which she gazes contemplatively to the side.

The Jan. 29 special -- the latest in the network's series of small-scale acoustic performances that premiered in November 1989 -- will "showcase a more intimate side of Cyrus" and includes surprise guests, MTV said.

Before Cyrus posted her photo, which now also adorns her Twitter page, MTV announced the special during Monday night's episode of "Teen Wolf."

The "Wrecking Ball" singer, whose Bangerz tour plays Nassau Coliseum on April 24, starred in the MTV special "Miley: The Movement" in October.
