Miley Cyrus: 'I didn't call off my wedding'
Singer-actress Miley Cyrus Wednesday fired back at rumors that she and her fiance, "Hunger Games" actor Liam Hemsworth, have called off their wedding.
"I am so sick of L.A.," she tweeted. "And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn't call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media." Eighty minutes later she tweeted, "My new music is gonna shut everyone up."
Cyrus, 20, was responding to tabloid speculation that arose after Hemsworth, 23, was seen in Los Angeles recently on different occasions with Emma Watson and January Jones. Cyrus also attended the 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars party in West Hollywood on Feb. 24 without Hemsworth.
The two became engaged last May when the Australian actor proposed with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane. In January, Hemsworth's representative denied rumors the couple had secretly gotten married after Cyrus, in a Cosmopolitan magazine interview, referred to herself as married and to Hemsworth as "my hubby."
She and Hemsworth met while filming the Nicholas Sparks coming-of-age romantic drama "The Last Song" (2009), in which they co-starred. He also appeared in her accompanying music video, "When I Look at You." They announced their breakup in August 2010, but less than a month later the two were photographed together running errands and spending time at Cyrus' Toluca Lake, Calif., home.
They split up again that fall, but Cyrus' musician brother Trace Cyrus later said the two had reconciled the following spring.
