Have singer-actress Miley Cyrus and her fiance, "Hunger Games" star LiamHemsworth, called off their engagement?

Media reports Wednesday said the two have split over Hemsworth's dislike of the 20-year-old Cyrus' penchant for partying.

Hemsworth, 23, has been in his native Australia in recent days, spending time with his brother, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth, and his brother's family. He was expected to return to the United States in the next several days.

Cyrus, meanwhile, has been photographed on two recent occasions minus her engagement ring.

Conversely, E! News Wednesday reported that while the couple has hit a rocky patch, they remained committed to making the relationship work.

Representatives for the two stars did not reply to Newsday's requests for comment.

Cyrus responded to breakup rumors last week, tweeting, "I am so sick of L.A. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn't call off my wedding."

This followed tabloid speculation that arose after Hemsworth was seen in Los Angeles on different occasions with actresses Emma Watson and January Jones. As well, Cyrus attended the 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Party in West Hollywood on Feb. 24 without Hemsworth.

The two, who became engaged last May, have broken up and reunited at least twice since they met while filming the romantic drama "The Last Song" in 2009.
