Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo alluded to her boyfriend, pop musician Nick Jonas, on television during the final moments of the 2013 competition.
"To the very special person who puts a smile on my face every day," Culpo, 21, said in a pre-recorded message that played while she took her final walk as the reigning Miss Universe, "I can't wait to start this new chapter with you."
Culpo had tweeted earlier in the evening, "To the person who puts a smile on my face every day. 1 hour until show time," accompanied by an Instagram photo of herself and Jonas, also 21, backstage during the pageant at Crocus City Hall in Moscow.
Shortly afterward, Jonas posted an Instagram photo of himself at an undisclosed time and place, standing before a giant blow-up promotional photo of Culpo, captioning the picture, "I got my eyes on you. You're everything that I see. Happy to be in Moscow supporting my girl on her final walk as miss Universe. So proud of you, Olivia Culpo."
Jonas told Joan Rivers in September that he and former Miss USA 2012 Culpo met during the summer when he co-hosted Miss USA 2013.
The Rhode Island-born Culpo crowned the new Miss Universe Gabriela Isler, of Venezuela. Isler, 25, works as an anchor for Venezuela's Venevision television, according to the Los Angeles Times.
