Actor Paul Sorvino and comedian Susie Essman attended last night's gala for the Gold Coast International Film Festival, where the crowd included comedy writer Jeffrey Gurian, stand-up comic Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New York City." Sorvino, star of the new musical comedy "How Sweet It Is," showed up to The Space at Westbury to receive the festival's lifetime achievement award, Newsday's Rafer Guzmán reports. "I think it's wonderful," said Sorvino, 74, who starred in "Goodfellas" and NBC's "Law & Order" during the early 1990s. "At this age, you look back and say, 'Well, you've been an honest workman, and it's time to reap your rewards.' " Essman, known as Jeff Garlin's potty-mouthed wife on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," was on hand to receive an award for artist of distinction.
