When bulges show beneath tight dresses, female singers can unfortunately expect pregnancy rumors. Such was the case at Sunday's American Music Awards, where both Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera's appearances sparked the inevitable question.
The rumors have actually dogged Perry ever since she declared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" this month that, "I would love to have children. . . . If it doesn't hurt the first time. I'll keep popping them out."
But not soon. "Hell, no!" Perry, 27, told Hollyscoop.com at the AMAs when asked if she and her husband, comedian Russell Brand, 36, were expecting.
She blamed the slight bulge on her beverage and dietary preferences. "I still like drinking alcohol, so not yet!" she told the syndicated TV show "The Insider." She followed that remark with an irreverent joke, then added sweetly, "I like In-N-Out burger and Taco Bell, and if you want to make that pregnant, then that's your problem!"
All this follows Perry's comments at her Madison Square Garden concert on Nov. 16, where, according to multiple reports, she told the crowd she was bloated with a "food baby" from eating "New York City pizza." And she added: "Don't you hate it when you eat too much pizza and everyone's patting your stomach and saying things like, 'Is it a boy or a girl?' And then you're like, ---- please, it's a ham and pineapple pizza!' "
Perry continued to have fun with the rumors on Monday, tweeting, "I have a HUGE announcement that I can finally tell u (I've had to keep it a secret 4ever!) U ready?!?!" That turned out to be the news, in a follow-up tweet, that she's hosting "Saturday Night Live" on Dec. 10.
Meanwhile, the latest Aguilera pregnancy rumors surfaced after she performed "Moves Like Jagger" in a skintight Herve Leger minidress that clung to her generous curves. In response, an unidentified friend of the 30-year-old star told RadarOnline.com Tuesday that Aguilera is "100 percent NOT pregnant."
