England's Prince George turns 1 year old Tuesday, and the celebrations have begun.

His mother, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, will throw him a birthday party, Us Weekly said Monday, with most of her family and those of his father, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, expected to attend. The magazine said the royal affair would likely be an indoor tea party at William and Kate's Kensington Palace home, but could extend to the garden, weather permitting. A photo released over the weekend by the duke and duchess, both 32, showed their young son walking. The photo was taken by Press Association staff photographer John Stillwell while the family visited the "Sensational Butterflies" exhibition at the Natural History Museum on July 2.

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace on Saturday opens the previously announced exhibition "Royal Childhood," collecting artifacts from more than 250 years of royal children's toys, family gifts and childhood outfits, as well as previously unseen photographs and film footage.
