Selena Gomez laughed off a suggestion that her briefly dating the DJ Zedd, 25, whose full name is Anton Zaslavski, was a publicity stunt, and after months of speculation confirmed that it was a real relationship.

Referring to a claim by the DJ Diplo in a recent interview that the fling was false, Gomez, 22, told the New Zealand radio show "The Edge Afternoons" on Tuesday that, "First off, it's very interesting that Diplo would think he knew about my personal life, but he doesn't." She added, "I adore Anton a lot and I definitely had a thing with him, which was nice."

Gomez also shot down a rumor that she had called Katy Perry to make amends for portraying a Perry-like singer in Taylor Swift's music video for "Bad Blood," widely taken to be a swipe at Swift's former friend Perry.

"That's false," she said. "I love Katy. . . . She's amazing. But I didn't talk about that. . . . She's awesome."
