"Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi says her new baby has shown her "a different kind of love that I never felt before."
Polizzi, 24 -- whose son Lorenzo Dominic with fiance Jionni LaValle was born Aug. 26 after 24 hours of labor -- told People magazine in the issue out Friday that, "When I got pregnant, everything changed. . . . The partying is long gone. I'm a new person."
The baby's name, chimed in LaValle, 25, came after he and Polizzi "were going back and forth, and I just happened to think of Lorenzo," a name inspired by a child from his East Hanover, N.J., hometown, where the couple now live with his parents. "She loved it."
The middle name, Polizzi told People, is that of her late uncle. "I did it for my dad," she said.
Polizzi said that by the time her pregnancy reached its third trimester, "It was definitely a little lonely" hanging out at the "Jersey Shore" house even though she had the support of her fellow series stars, particularly Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Deena Cortese.
"Everyone was still going out and staying up late, and I just wanted to go to bed at 8 o'clock. I didn't want to do everything that everyone else was doing."
The impending end of "Jersey Shore" is "bittersweet," she reflected. "But my life has changed. I have a family now!"
In addition to appearing on the upcoming sixth and final season of "Jersey Shore," Polizzi is shooting season two of the spinoff, "Snooki & JWoww."
