Conor Kennedy, the 17-year-old ex-boyfriend of Taylor Swift, was arrested Wednesday, alongside his father Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and actress Daryl Hannah for protesting outside the White House. The trio were protesting the proposed Keystone XL tar sands pipeline before they were hauled off in cuffs. According to a news release from the Sierra Club, "After being taken away from the White House in handcuffs, both Kennedys were driven to a Park Police station and released after paying a fine." The Kennedy family has always been socially active, with Conor and his father following in the tradition as activists with the Sierra Club.
