Has filmmaker Quentin Tarantino begun a relationship with his cinematic muse, Uma Thurman, after years of friendship and working together?
Us Weekly asserted Wednesday the two are dating, noting they spent time together at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival -- where their classic "Pulp Fiction" played in a 20th-anniversary screening -- and had shared a villa.
Tarantino, 51, has never married but has been romantically linked with a number of women over the years. Thurman, 44, married Ethan Hawke -- with whom she has children Maya, 16, and Levon, 12 -- in 1998, but the couple separated in 2003 and later divorced. She and the London-based financier Arpad "Arki" Busson began a relationship in 2007 and became engaged twice, calling it off in 2009, reuniting and breaking it off again in 2014, according to reports at the time. They have a daughter, Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson, called Luna, who was born in July 2012.
Thurman told The Associated Press in April 2004 that she and Tarantino were "really different people actually, but that's what's fun about talking to each other. We have very different perspectives. He's a very extroverted, public person. I'm a very introverted person. We're just very different characters, but somehow or other . . . " she began, finishing the sentence with a shrug, the AP said.
In addition to her role in "Pulp Fiction," Thurman starred in Tarantino's "Kill Bill Vol. 1" (2003) and "Kill Bill Vol. 2" (2004).
