Valerie Harper is competing on "Dancing With the Stars," but she's already a champion. On Thursday, NBC aired the brave "Valerie's Story: A Meredith Vieira Special," which explored Valerie's battle with cancer and her current health status. Valerie hopes that being on "Dancing With the Stars" will inspire others. "You've just got to keep going," she said. "No matter what is in your life, you just press through. . . . I'm not out of the woods and I don't pretend to be. But as long as I feel this good, why sit and watch dancing when I could be up there dancing?" In March, Valerie revealed that she was suffering from leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare, terminal brain cancer. Last month, her doctor said she "was pretty close to remission." "I have a type of cancer that is incurable, but what's happened is in these past months each brain scan successively looks better," Valerie said.
