"Fast and Furious" franchise actor Vin Diesel has made the ultimate tribute to his fallen co-star and friend, Paul Walker: Naming his child after him.
Diesel revealed his newborn daughter's name on Monday's "Today" show, to co-host Natalie Morales, with whom he's apparently close.
"I'm telling you this because I love you," he said. "I know that you are a good soul, and I know that this is in good hands."
The actor and his longtime girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez, have named their new baby Pauline, he said. They have two older children together, daughter Hania, 6, and son VIncent, 4. The couple announced Pauline's arrival via a Facebook photo on March 16, but didn't reveal her gender or name at the time.
"There's no other person that I'm thinking about as I'm cutting this umbilical cord," Diesel said of Walker, who died in a fiery car crash Nov. 30, 2013. "I knew he was there and I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family, a part of my world."
Meanwhile, "Fast and Furious" cast member Michelle Rodriguez, 36, admitted to Entertainment Weekly that the shock of losing Walker, "the deepest guy I know," sent her "on a bit of a binge." She tearfully told the magazine, "I went crazy a little bit. I went pretty crazy. A lot of the stuff I did last year I would never do had I been in my right mind," she said, referring to relationship issues and hard partying.
Walker -- who along with Diesel, Rodriguez and other cast members was on Thanksgiving break from filming the "Furious 7" movie -- was a passenger in a fatal car crash in Valencia, California, on Nov. 30, 2013. He was 40 years old.
"Furious 7," which was still filming at the time of Walker's death, premieres in theaters April 3.
