Far from the main drag on an industrial stretch of road near the Deer Park railroad station, you'll find this totally charming little paean to the Carribean. In a room decorated with evocative Caribbean murals and pretty contemporary furnishings, Chef Joseph Fogah dishes out large helpings of Island hospitality, along with sensational food. If you're not bothered by order-at-the-counter service, paper plates and plastic utensils, you'll be in paradise.
Try the "stamp and go," terrific little fried potato and cod pancakes. Oxtail stew is something you'll want to have every night. If you've never had goat before, start with the goat curry served here. Fried plantains are a must. Jerk chicken and ackee and salt fish are other standouts.
For dessert, there's moist Jamaican fruitcake. You'll be coming back for more.
