'Wall-E' was out of this world, but the lovable robot wasn't the year's only character with plenty of magnetism
This winter, with films like "The Reader" and "Valkyrie" to name just a few, the studios are trotting out a parade of Nazis, those useful, all-purpose villains of the cinema. They're unarguably evil, guaranteed not to offend (who's going to object?) and surrounded by the somber aura of history. In other words, most Nazi films are obvious and a little boring, though the Oscars may yet disagree.
