David Letterman has received many accolades in his life, including his upcoming induction as a Kennedy Center Honoree, but there's one pop culture honor he's missing: he wants Taylor Swift to write a song about him.

The country star, who is dating Bedford’s Conor Kennedy, appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman” on Tuesday. During the interview, Letterman, a North Salem resident, asked Swift to write a song about him similar to those that she has penned about her exes, who include John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal.

“You write songs about people in your life,” Letterman said, “friends who are maybe no longer in the same role as previously in your life ...”

“You’re being very delicate about it. I like that,” Swift responded.

"What I would like now is ... if you could include me somehow in a song like that," Letterman continued, referencing Swift's notorious post-breakup songs. "That would be great."

Swift said she appreciated that Letterman wanted such a song. "You’d be surprised the angry emails I get sometimes,” she said.

When Letterman repeated how much he wanted a Swift-penned tune about him, the country star gave some insight into the feedback she gets from her famous former flames.

“But you wouldn’t write me an email with the subject line being ‘Thoughts?’”

Letterman promised he would send no emails, and he and Swift sealed the deal with a fist bump. Watch the video clip below.

(While we ponder which of Swift’s exes sent her the above-mentioned email, we can’t help but wonder if Kennedy worries if his girlfriend will write a kiss-off song about him if they call it quits.)

Outside of the Letterman bit, Swift is having a stellar week. With strong sales for her new album, “Red,” she’s on pace to have back-to-back albums debut with one million-plus units in sales. She has also been confirmed as a performer at the 40th annual American Music Awards on Nov. 18, where she's nominated in the country female artist category.
