Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang offer stylish looks at affordable prices
Ralph Lauren and Vera Wang, two big-name designers with Westchester ties, will show off spring 2013 looks at the upcoming New York Fashion Week. But if you're looking for their high-end style at affordable prices, both have fall lines available now in chain stores nationwide.
Ralph Lauren, a Bedford resident, is known for his crisp, classic and elegant looks (and employing fashionista Rachel Green on “Friends”). The fall line for his affordable women’s collection, “Lauren Ralph Lauren,” was, according to the website, designed to “transition effortlessly into fall with a rich, earthy palette and mix of prints and textures.” “Lauren,” available at Macy's, features maxi dresses, cropped straight-leg jeans and platform wedge sandals, ranging from $20 to $699.
Pound Ridge resident Vera Wang also has a wallet-friendly line, "Simply Vera by Vera Wang,” available exclusively at Kohl’s. The fall collection includes floral prints, layered tanks and wedge ankle boots that cost between $20 and $80. For juniors, Wang has the “Princess Vera by Vera Wang” line, also at Kohl’s. The teen-centric line, perfect for students heading back to school, features plaid pants, cropped blazers and quilted bags, priced at $20 to $60.
Looking ahead to fashion week, Vera Wang will show her collection on Sept. 11 and Ralph Lauren on Sept. 13. We'll be posting photos from the shows, so be sure to check back.
