Formerly known as Viola, this popular local restaurant comes through in many ways.

Try the portobello mushroom stuffed with caramelized onions, artichokes, spinach and mozzarella to understand how well chef co-owner John Constantino knows his craft. In the hands of a lesser chef, this could be just a big, melted mush. Instead, it' a dish both soothing and vibrant, one in which every ingredient retained its identity yet melded into a savory whole. Spaghetti and meatballs seem designed expressly to satisfy elemental cravings; the meatballs light and bite- size, the tomato basil sauce tasting of the summer garden, the pasta al dente.

Desserts are rich and indulgent, but, with a menu as reasonable as this one, you don't have to be rich to indulge.
