At this small Great Neck taverna whose tables spill onto the street in fine weather, the Greek food is very good. But taramasalata and moussaka, however respectable, are not the magnets that will draw you back time and again to the lyrically named Santorini My Love.

You'll be hard-pressed to find better (or fresher) Greek-style grilled seafood east of Astoria than the glistening char-grilled fare offered here. Try the grilled whole calamari, anointed with nothing more than olive oil, lemon, garlic and herbs; you'll find yourself dreaming of it at unexpected times. The whole grilled fish - tilapia, sea bass, snapper, whatever's on display in the counter showcase - is exemplary, crusty without, snowy within.

Finish with galactoboureko (vanilla pudding) encased in phyllo or nutty-sweet baklava. And start planning for your next visit.
