Description:

Seasonal exhibits of Long Island wildlife and plants, with a nocturnal animal exhibit, are used to interpret the principles of life sciences at this Nassau County museum, located on an 84-acre preserve; 5 miles of nature trails, cross-country skiing (weather permitting), educational programs, children's birthday parties and scout programs.

Hours:

Museum open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thur.-Sun. all year; preserve open daily and closes at dusk
