THE MOVIE "Absolutely Fabulous"

THE DEAL Fox Searchlight is in talks to cofinance a film version of the popular BBC television show, according to Deadline.com. The 1990s-era show, nicknamed by "Ab Fab" by fans, starred Saunders as a substance-abusing public relations rep and Lumley as a similarly addled magazine editor who spend their time chasing absurd fads in an attempt to stay hip. Both actresses, along with series regular Julia Sawalha, will reprise their roles. Production is slated to begin Oct. 12 in London.

THE MOVIE "100 Bullets"

THE DEAL The star of "Mad Max: Fury Road" may produce and star in a movie adaptation of the award-winning Vertigo comic series, Variety reports. "100 Bullets," which ran for 100 issues from 1999 to 2009, followed a shadowy figure named Agent Graves, who approaches people with an unusual offer: one handgun, 100 rounds of untraceable ammunition and the identity of whoever ruined their lives. The studio behind the project is New Line, which is also developing an adaptation of the acclaimed comic "Sandman."

THE MOVIE "The Hunting Ground"

THE DEAL Kirby Dick's documentary about rapes on college campuses -- and the lack of action that often follows -- screens locally next week with producer Amy Ziering in attendance. Also appearing will be the film's executive producers, Regina K. Scully and Maria Cuomo Cole. The screening is presented by The Retreat, an East End nonprofit that serves survivors of domestic violence.
