THE DEAL The upcoming movie about a tiny superhero is poised to earn up to $60 million on its opening weekend, according to TheWrap.com. That number, based on pre-release tracking, would speak well of Rudd's pull at the box office, and of Marvel's ability to add fresh new superheroes to its familiar mix of Thor, Iron Man and Captain America. As of now, "Ant-Man," which is scheduled for release July 17, is poised to become Marvel's 12th straight No. 1 opening.

THE MOVIE "So B. It"
THE DEAL The Australian-American star of Netflix's "Bloodline" has joined the cast of Stephen Gyllenhaal's road-trip drama, Variety reports. The film tells the story of a 12-year-old girl (Talitha Bateman) who leaves her mentally challenged mother to take a solo journey. The cast also includes Cloris Leachman, Alfre Woodard and John Heard. Gyllenhaal, whose directing credits include "Paris Trout," is the father of actors Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
THE MOVIE "A Poem Is a Naked Person"
THE DEAL Les Blank's 1974 documentary captures the colorful blues rocker Leon Russell -- and guests such as Willie Nelson and George Jones -- at Russell's Oklahoma studio over a three-year period beginning in 1972. The film, shown occasionally over the decades but never actually released until now, screens locally with Blank's son, Harrod, in person.
