In the wake of a nearly $687 million global box office so far for "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Marvel Studios' "Captain America: Civil War" has begun production in Atlanta.

Marvel and Walt Disney studios said Thursday that the cast of the third film in the Captain America franchise includes "Age of Ultron" stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen, plus Paul Rudd as the title character of Marvel's upcoming "Ant-Man," due in theaters July 17.

Written and directed by the team behind last year's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the new film is set for release May 6, 2016.
