Spidey is getting his LI close-up. Large portions of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" were shot on Long Island, the film's director, Marc Webb, tells Newsday contributor Frank Lovece. "We built a massive version of Times Square in Long Island, in a parking lot," he says, for a major set piece in which Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) first confronts the superpowered Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx), called Electro in the comics. "We also shot on stages on Long Island," he added, specifying Grumman Studios in Bethpage. As well, "We shot in Brooklyn, we shot Harry Osborn's (Dane DeHaan) house down on Wall Street -- we converted a bank. Everything was shot in New York State. Part of a car chase we shot in Rochester." The film opens in May.
