THE DEAL On the heels of the mountaineering epic "Everest" and the boxing drama "Southpaw," the versatile actor is in talks to star in a monster movie with Paul Dano, Bill Nighy and Kelly Macdonald, Variety reports. "Okja" will be directed by Bong Joon-ho, the South Korean director whose 2006 horror film "The Host" was a blockbuster in his home country and whose sci-fi epic "Snowpiercer" was a critical smash here in 2013. THE DEAL The actress could join the cast of a remake of Joel Schumacher's 1990 thriller, according to TheWrap. The original, which featured Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, Kevin Bacon and William Baldwin as medical students who discover a way to glimpse the afterlife, received mixed reviews but earned a healthy $61 million. Page can be seen in the gay-rights drama "Freeheld," which opens Friday.
THE MOVIE "Halloween"
THE DEAL John Carpenter's 1978 classic about a baby-sitter (Jamie Lee Curtis) stalked by a sadistic killer will return to theaters nationwide this month. The one-night screening, presented by Fathom Events and SpectiCast, includes an exclusive, prerecorded introduction by Carpenter, 67, who will discuss his film's lasting influence on the horror genre.
