Oscar-nominated actress Emma Stone will play a young Cruella De Vil in a live-action film “Cruella.”
The movie is being called an origin story about the villainess from “One Hundred and One Dalmatians.”
Disney announced Monday a slew of such live-action movies including “Dumbo,” directed by Tim Burton, and a Tinker Bell project starring Reese Witherspoon.Critic's previewThe movies you have to see in 2016PhotosThe 25 biggest box office hits of all timePhotos25 movies with the highest number of sequels
Stone, 27, had been in talks for the “Cruella” role since at least January. Glenn Close had played the adult Cruella in “101 Dalmatians” (1996), a live-action adaptation of the 1961 animated classic and the sequel, “102 Dalmatians” (2000).
