Helena Bonham Carter, Bruce Dern to speak at Hamptons film festival

Helena Bonham Carter and Bruce Dern will sit for live interviews at this year's Hamptons International Film Festival. Both appear in films screening at the festival and will speak as part of the annual series "A Conversation With . . . " Carter, who plays Elizabeth Taylor in the BBC television film "Burton and Taylor," will speak Oct. 12. Dern, who won best actor at Cannes for his performance in Alexander Payne's drama "Nebraska," will speak Oct. 13. The festival also announced that its $25,000 Alfred P. Sloan award, for realistic films about science and technology, will go to "Decoding Annie Parker," a drama about breast cancer research starring Helen Hunt, Samantha Morton and Aaron Paul.
