Singer-actor Justin Timberlake has joined the previously announced Anna Kendrick in DreamWorks Animation's upcoming musical-comedy "Trolls," based on the 1960s fad figurines.
Variety said yesterday that Timberlake, 34, will voice a survivalist Troll named Branch. Academy Award-nominee Kendrick, 30, will voice Princess Poppy.
Scheduled for release by 20th Century Fox on Nov. 4, 2016, it is directed by Mike Mitchell ("Shrek Forever After") and Walt Dohrn.
Adapted from Nordic legend, the Troll dolls were created in 1959 by Danish fisherman Thomas Dam, whose carved wood figurine for his daughter caught a toy-store owner's eye and became the basis for a hit product.
