THE MOVIE "Man of Tai Chi"

THE DEAL A trailer for the actor's directing debut hit the Web recently, promising a flashy-looking action flick with chopsocky soul. The star is Tiger Hu Chen, a stuntman on the "Matrix" sequels, playing a young martial arts fighter who enters a tournament in Beijing. Reeves plays the villain. According to, China Film Group and Village Roadshow Pictures are funding the movie, which is due in theaters this year.

THE MOVIE "The Voices"

THE DEAL The Oscar-nominated actress ("Silver Linings Playbook") has joined the cast of this psychological thriller directed by Marjane Satrapi ("Persepolis"), according to The Hollywood Reporter. It stars Ryan Reynolds as a bathtub factory worker who begins hearing voices from his good dog and evil cat. The script is by Michael R. Perry ("Paranormal Activity"). Gemma Arterton and Anna Kendrick co-star. Shooting has begun at Studio Babelsberg outside Berlin.

THE MOVIE "Chasing Ice"

THE DEAL This documentary about environmental photographer James Balog, whose time-lapse videos capture the disappearance of giant mountains of ice, screens as part of an ongoing celebration of Earth Day. The guest speaker will be Malcolm J. Bowman, professor of physical oceanography at Stony Brook University's School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences.
