Kevin Hart's 'The Wedding Ringer' will be his fourth comedy in one year, plus more movie buzz

THE MOVIE "The Wedding Ringer"

THE DEAL The fast-talking actor-comedian also is fast working: He's set to appear in his fourth comedy in the space of a year. According to TheWrap.com, Sony Pictures will release "The Wedding Ringer," in which Hart plays a best man for hire, over the 2015 Martin Luther King holiday weekend. That's on top of two other upcoming Hart vehicles, the rom-com "About Last Night," due on Valentine's Day, and the sequel "Think Like a Man Too," scheduled for June 20. "Ride Along," Hart's buddy-cop comedy with Ice Cube, recently set the record for the highest-grossing MLK holiday weekend opening, taking in $48 million.

THE DEAL The unpredictable Irish actor is set to join a star-studded cast in a movie about the Chilean workers trapped in a mine in 2010, Deadline.com reports. Byrne will play Andre Sougarret, the brilliant engineer who devised the workers' rescue plan. The movie also stars Antonio Banderas, Juliette Binoche and Rodrigo Santoro. Byrne also will be seen in the upcoming supernatural teen flick "Vampire Academy."

 

THE MOVIE "Girl on a Bicycle"

THE DEAL This multilingual comedy centers on Paolo (Vincenzo Amato), an Italian tour-bus driver who finds his life complicated by a German stewardess (Nora Tschirner) and a young French beauty (Louise Monot). It's the inaugural screening in the Elliman Film Series, a new monthly series being launched by the Gold Coast Arts Center, which also produces the long-running Furman Film Series. The series continues through June.
