A new "Mary Poppins" will be floating onto film. Entertainment Weekly said Monday that Disney -- which adapted the first tome in the children's book series as an Oscar-winning 1964 film and a successful 2006 Broadway musical -- is developing a live-action movie musical taking place 20 years after the events of that famed story.

In cooperation with author P.L. Travers' estate, the magazine said, Disney has commissioned director Rob Marshall and producers John DeLuca and Marc Platt, from the studio's 2014 hit "Into the Woods." Original songs and a new score will be written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman ("Hairspray") and David Magee ("Finding Neverland") will pen the screenplay.
