The Academy enlisted a true God this year -- Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth -- to help announce the 2014 Oscar nominees Thursday.

As predicted, "Gravity" and "American Hustle" top the list (with 10 nods each), while Martin Scorcese's Long Island-based tale, "The Wolf of Wall Street," was more of a surprise -- considering it was met with mixed reviews from critics and audiences, then took only a single Golden Globe on Sunday. "Wolf" snagged five nominations in major categories, putting it pretty much on par with the Globes best picture winner, "12 Years a Slave," also a leading nominee in the Oscars race.

See how the nominations event unfolded, plus check out reactions from moviegoers and critics via Twitter, in the feed below. The Academy Awards, to be hosted again by Ellen DeGeneres, will take place March 2.
