“Top Gun” is about to go into the wild Blu yonder.

The 1986 movie smash about a Navy fighter pilot in training (Tom Cruise) who gets high marks from his instructor (Kelly McGillis) for his skills in the air and in the bedroom, is coming out in a 30th anniversary Limited Edition Blu-ray Combo Steelbook from Paramount on May 3 and it includes a bounty of extras. In addition to the two leads, “Top Gun” also features several stars in the making, including Tim Robbins, Meg Ryan and Anthony Edwards.

Among the features are a making-of and behind-the-scenes featurettes; interviews with Cruise; commentaries by producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Tony Scott, co-screenwriter Jack Epps Jr. and naval experts; and a survival-training film.

Music lovers will also find plenty to sing about. Four videos of pop hits from the movie are in the set, including Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone,” Loverboy’s “Heaven in Your Eyes,” the “Top Gun Anthem” and the Oscar-winning “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin.
