Scott Caan of 'Hawaii Five-O' replaces Shia LaBeouf in 'Kasbah'

THE MOVIE "Rock the Kasbah"

THE DEAL The star of television's "Hawaii Five-O" will replace Shia LaBeouf in an upcoming comedy that stars Bill Murray and Bruce Willis, Variety reports. LaBeouf joined the project in January after retiring from public life and claiming he was "not famous anymore," but no reason has been given for his departure. "Rock the Kasbah" tells the story of a hard-luck music manager who discovers a talented young singer in Afghanistan. Caan will play a con man in Kabul.

THE DEAL The British-born, Asian-Canadian actress (Netflix's "House of Cards") is in talks to star in Paramount's reboot of the sci-fi franchise, according to Deadline.com. The cast includes Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor; Jason Clarke as her son, John Connor; Jai Courtney ("Divergent") as Kyle Reese, and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his iconic role as a time-traveling cyborg. Holt would play Det. Cheung, who arrests the Connors in the year 2017. The movie is due in theaters July 1, 2015.

THE MOVIE "Brooklyn"

THE DEAL The actress will take the lead role in a movie based on Colm Toibin's novel about an Irish girl who relocates to 1950s Brooklyn, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Domnhall Gleeson and Emory Cohen ("The Place Beyond the Pines") play her suitors from the old world and the new; Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters are also in the cast. Nick Hornby ("High Fidelity") wrote the script.
