This is "Spinal" app!

To mark the 30th anniversary of Rob Reiner's heavy metal mockumentary, "This Is Spinal Tap," AMC is letting iPad users test drive its YEAH! movie app by offering a special-features version of the 1984 movie for free through April 11.

Fans of the movie, which stars Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer as members of fictional '80s hair band Spinal Tap, will be in rock and roll heaven with the boatload of bonus features, including 335 fun facts, 13 quizzes and four interactive polls. Interviews with Reiner and cast members dig into the back stories (apparently the mullets weren't the worst cuts in the movie -- a sex narrative featuring Runaways singer Cherie Currie was totally chopped out). Adding to the fun are commentaries by real-life rockers including Meat Loaf, Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and AC/DC's Brian Johnson.

To access the film, download the free YEAH! app from iTunes or at yeahtv.com. Sign up or sign in to redeem the complimentary movie, which normally rents for $2.99. Talk about a deal that rocks.
