"American Idol" winner Candice Glover and runner-up Kree Harrison are enjoying their first tour, even if they don't get to see much outside the arenas they play.
"I always love waving at the dancing kids, so that's always fun," Glover said backstage at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale Thursday, before the "American Idol Live" show. "It's so surreal to know that I looked up to people like Jazmine Sullivan, Jennifer Hudson and Whitney Houston. The fact that I have the same impact on kids that Whitney Houston and all of them had on me . . . That's something I would never trade for anything."
Harrison -- who, like Glover, will start on her debut album after the tour wraps up this month -- said she deeply appreciates the fans. "The best part for me is not only getting to do what we love every night, but getting to meet the people," she said. "They're the reason we're on tour."
