Adele's Grammy night is set to be even more special.

There is already plenty of talk that the British singer-songwriter is set to sweep the Grammys – where she has six nominations, including for album of the year, record of the year and song of the year. Now comes word that she will perform at the ceremony, her first appearance on stage since she underwent vocal cord surgery five months ago, forcing the cancellation of her American tour and requiring her to keep from using her voice for months.

“I'm immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year's Grammy Awards,” Adele said in a statement. “It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night, and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all.”

The biggest star of 2011, Adele now holds the No. 1 position on the singles chart (with “Set Fire to the Rain”) and the albums chart, with “21,” the longest-running chart-topper since “The Bodyguard” soundtrack in 1993.

Bay Shore native LL Cool J is set to host the awards Feb. 12. Other performers include collaborations from Coldplay and Rihanna, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Glen Campbell with The Band Perry and Blake Shelton, as well as appearances from Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
