Happy new year! Last week, we counted down the year's best albums. This week, we look at the Top 25 singles of 2012.
25. Joseph Arthur, “I Miss the Zoo” (Lonely Astronaut): A thrilling Dylanesque romp uniting talking blues and indie rock.
24. Death Grips, “I've Seen Footage” (Epic): A hip-hop hoot that manages to sound both classic and groundbreaking.
23. Howler, “Beach Sluts” (Rough Trade): Minnesotans welding fuzzy '60s guitar pop to '70s punk with slightly British accents. How could it miss?
22. Pink, “Try” (RCA): An elegant, powerful anthem about sticking it out in a relationship.
21. Grimes, “Oblivion” (4AD): Delightfully simple melodically, powerfully complex lyrically, and you can dance to it.
