Foreigner, Styx and former Eagles guitarist Don Felder are set to provide The Soundtrack of Summer with a tour, including a stop at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on June 28.

“It’s primarily the songs you want to hear,” says Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson. “We’ve had 16 Top 30 songs, so there’s your set-list. We keep it fun and sparky.”

So expect the band founded by guitarist Mick Jones and featuring new singer Kelly Hansen to take on classics like “Cold as Ice,” “Urgent” and “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

There will also be some surprises, says Pilson, adding that right now they are of the “I’d-tell-you-but-I’d-have-to-kill-you” variety. He does reveal that Foreigner, Styx and Felder have recorded a version of the Eagles classic “Hotel California,” which Felder co-wrote, that will be available on a compilation CD sold at the shows and eventually on iTunes.

Pilson says the band has also been trying out some of their hits acoustically and is especially fond of how “Say You Will” works. “It’s so much fun,” he says. “It’s great to help people experience the songs in a new way.”

Tickets are $29.50 to $79.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday through Ticketmaster.
