GRAMMY PREDIX: Best New Artist Nicki Minaj

Welcome to Grammy Weekend! We'll be preparing for Music's Biggest Night by looking at the top categories and predicting who will win. (Hint: Adele.) We'll also be live-blogging the red carpet arrivals and pre-show awards starting at 4 p.m. Sunday here, as well as the big show starting at 8 p.m.
Let's start with the one category we're sure Adele won't win – best new artist. (She already won it in 2008.)
The nominees:
The Band Perry
Bon Iver
J. Cole
Nicki Minaj
Skrillex
WILL WIN: Nicki Minaj. It will be close between the hip-hop Barbie and earnest country siblings The Band Perry. Expect indie heroes Bon Iver and dubstep star Skrillex to split the “hip” vote and Minaj and J. Cole to split the hip-hop vote. Will the drag of Cole be enough to counteract Minaj's undeniable star power and hand it to The Band Perry? I'm guessing no.
SHOULD WIN: Nicki Minaj.
