Lo-fi heroes Guided by Voices make a return to Central Park SummerStage this summer as part of the CBGB Festival, according to a rep for SummerStage.
The fest, a Manhattan- and Brooklyn-wide extravaganza running July 5-8, will include hundreds of bands at such varied venues as Webster Hall, the Highline Ballroom, Lit Lounge and, of course, SummerStage.
The July 7 GBV show starts at 3 p.m. and features opening acts The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Cloud Nothings. It’s free.
Other bands taking part in the CBGB Fest, according to reports, include David Johansen; Pete Buck and Steve Wynn’s group, Baseball Project; Vision of Disorder; and the Cro-Mags.
