Madonna 'Celebration' begins

Madonna’s new single “Celebration” (Warner Bros.), hit the Internet and the radio stations Friday and it’s a bit of a surprise. (She's streaming it on her website.) The title track from her upcoming greatest hits collection, is one of her rare agenda-free dance anthems in the vein of “Into the Groove.” No genre bending, no political ambitions, just “Let’s get this started, yeah, ‘cause everybody wants to party with you” and lots of “What are you waiting for?”s over a Eurodisco beat provided by Paul Oakenfold. Sure, it’s pure pop fluff, but sometimes that’s enough when it’s this well executed.
