'The Voice' recap: Josh Kaufman leads Top 12

“The Voice” finally hits the live shows and the results were, well, mixed.

Theoretically, the main differences between “The Voice” and “American Idol” disappear once both shows hit the live shows, but that’s not true. “The Voice” finalists are much more seasoned and confident on stage and the show’s coaches are far more entertaining and likable than the “Idol” judges. That said, Adam Levine,...

'American Idol' recap: Alex Preston leads Top 7

Usually “American Idol” producers get what they want.

Last season, they wanted a female winner and they did everything in their power to make it happen. This season, they want teen heartthrob Sam Woolf to happen, a tall order considering his inexperience. Barring that, they clearly want a showdown between Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene, the two power singers.

The thing is Alex Preston...

Is it time for a Mr. & Mrs. Carter Tour? Maybe!

Jay Z and Beyoncé are reportedly planning a quick, 20-date summer tour, including a possible stop at a New York stadium on July 4, according to the New York Post. No word from Jay or Bey's camps or the Yankees, who would have to host the show since the Mets have a homestand against the Rangers at Citi Field that weekend.

To wrap up “The Voice” playoffs, Usher’s final choices last night were tough ones.

But it didn’t seem that Usher figured in the fact that the public starts voting on who moves ahead in the season next week. Aside from likable underdog dad Josh Kaufman, who was head-and-shoulders above the rest of the team, Usher went with skill over likability in his other choices since the others were all...

“The Voice” playoffs continue with tough cuts, as the coaches narrow their teams from five contestants to three.

Team Adam’s cuts seemed especially hard, considering that his entire team performed better than anyone Team Shakira had to offer.

Here’s how the night shaped up:

The battle at this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony wasn’t the one anybody was expecting.

It wasn’t between the members of Kiss (they were all actually quite nice to each other onstage) or between Kiss and the Rock Hall officials (mostly nice, but Paul Stanley did feel he had to complain a bit). It wasn’t between Kurt Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, and the surviving members...
