Summer kicks into high gear this week at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, with four back-to-back shows stacked up and a traffic jam of stars and up-and-comers for the season's busiest week.

Here's the lineup:

WEDNESDAY : Kenny Chesney with Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum , 7:30 p.m.; $42.50-$78, 516-221-1000, livenation.com

WHY Last summer's concert sales champion brings his country show to the area, just as his new hit, "Out Last Night," crosses over to the pop charts.

THURSDAY : The Fray with Jack's Mannequin and Richard Swift , 7 p.m.; $28-$66

WHY The piano-driven popsters were surprise Jones Beach headliners in 2007, simply on the strength of their debut album and the hits "How to Save a Life" and "Over My Head." They return as bona fide hit-makers now, thanks to "You Found Me" and the surprise success of their take on Kanye West's "Heartless." We're hoping success will come to piano-rockers Jack's Mannequin, whose charming albums "The Glass Passenger" and "Everything in Transit" remain underappreciated.

FRIDAY : Aerosmith with ZZ Top , 7:30 p.m.; $95.50-$207.50

WHY The band is playing its 1975 classic "Toys in the Attic" in its entirety, including "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion," on the current tour. Unfortunately, guitarist Brad Whitford will be on the sidelines until July 9, as he recovers from a head injury. He will be replaced for the show by Green Day and Weezer tour vet Bobby Schneck.

SATURDAY : No Doubt with Paramore and Janelle Monae , 7:30 p.m.; $29.50-$90

WHY On its first tour in five years, No Doubt's members are getting to know each other musically again and trying to rekindle creativity to write a new album. Gwen Stefani and the gang have been tapping into their ska-loving side - reworking "Excuse Me Mister" and playing up the groove of "Underneath It All" - and their '80s New Wave side, covering Adam & the Ants' "Stand and Deliver" and Talk Talk's "It's My Life." Don't miss space-age hip-hopper Janelle Monae's opening set.
