Smooth R&B from Mario on 'D.N.A.'

Don't let Mario's roughed-up new single "Break Up" with Gucci Mane fool you; the rest of the former teenage sensation's new "D.N.A." (J Records) album offers that same smooth R&B we've come to expect.
And why not? Mario's pretty much mastered it.
His take on the catchy "Thinkin' About You" comes close to his smash "Let Me Love You," while "Soundtrack to My Broken Heart" is the kind of chugging undeniable pop hit that could have been a hit for anyone from Daughtry to Beyoncé. No doubt, slick R&B is built into Mario's "D.N.A." MARIO "D.N.A."
The grade B+
