Thanks to all the readers who posted pictures of their pooches as part of our "Is your dog show-worthy?" feature.
With the Westminster Kennel Club dog show getting started, AKC-licensed judge Patricia Cruz has other obligations.
So this feature is now closed. You can see the photos submitted and her informal comments by clicking on this link to our MyCapture photo album.
No more photos will be uploaded and reader comments on these photos will not be approved so as to avoid any confusion for users beyond this point.
Please feel free to send us photos of your dogs, or any other photos you wish using our other MyCapture features
Note: A few of the first photos in the dog show-worthy album may have been posted too late to receive comments from the AKC judge.
About the judge:
Patricia Cruz received her American Kennel Club judging license in 1972, and presently she judges all sighthound breeds, Dachshunds, bull terriers, mini-bull Terriers and Junior Showmanship here in U.S. Since 1980, she has been approved by the Federacion Canofila de Mexicana to judge all breeds recognized by the FCI -- more than 350 -- and she has judged all over Central and South America. This year, she is privileged to be on the panel for the FCI World Show in Mexico City in May. In addition to her two children, she has raised Afghan Hounds, Poodles and English Cockers, and has exhibited Dachshunds, Afghans, Bull Terriers, a Skye Terrier and an Ibizan hound. She has written for major newspapers (including Newsday) on the sport of dog shows since 1967, when she started as a stringer for New York Times columnist Walter Fletcher.
