Spring 2008 Fashion Week: Graphic Designs

Patterns - from bold to barely there - have been a common theme on Fashion Week runways, from the fab flowers at Carolina Herrera and the stunning ikats at Oscar de la Renta to the animal prints at Tuleh and the sparkly splatters at Narciso Rodriguez. And leave it to Diane von Fürstenberg to take everyone to the tropics, with her many variations on a jungle theme.

Bearded Brooklyn designers bring Costello Tagliapietra line to fashion week

The name -- Costello Tagliapietra -- doesn't exactly fall trippingly off the tongue. The studio -- squeezed into a third-floor, walk-up apartment in a Brooklyn brownstone -- isn't in a hip part of town. And when the door opens at the top of the creaky, off-kilter stairs, what you see isn't what you might expect.
