Apolllo Creed meets the Italian Stallion. It sounds like a monster movie.
Well, actually it sounds like a musical.
That's right, The Hollywood Reporter says Sylvester Stallone announced that "Rocky" will take the stage sometime in 2012 ... in Germany.
Stallone announced in Hamburg on Monday that he's teamed up with Ukrainian heavyweight boxing brothers Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko to get "Rocky: The Musical" in the works.
But it's not just about the fight.
Stallone says in The Hollywood Reporter, "At the end of the day, 'Rocky' is a love story and he could never have reached the final bell without Adrian."
Among those collaborating on the project: script writer Thomas Meehan, lyricist Lynn Ahrens and composer Stephen Flaherty.
The $15-million budgeted musical will tour in English after the German version premieres in 2012.
